"Non Stop Fun" continued at the Iowa State Fair, Friday night 20th through the 22nd.
The state fair was concluding and the crow outside the fairgrounds was becoming a large crowd of people. A large group of black male and female juveniles was reported to have started assaulting people again, like last Friday night.
Officers were tripped to the Main Gate Bar reference to a large fight with black male and female juveniles assaulting White citizens.
First officer on the scene said they were fighting on both sides of the Main Gate. We were trying to disperse the crowd of JVs in the street at East 30th and East grand. Most were refusing to move. A crowd of 4-5 black female juveniles were on the south side of the street, E. Grand Ave. Officer B was asking them to move along. A female, later known as Ers’shelle Clayborn, refused to move. She told the officer to “fuck off, and she fucken moven.”
I approached her and told her to move along. She was on the cell phone and looked at me and told “fuck you”. She turned away from me and ignored our request to move. I approached her and stood in front of her. She still refused to respond. I grabbed her wrist with a cell phone and directed her toward the west. She resisted some bud was starting to move.
Then without warning I was struck from behind by an unknown person.
I was struck in the back, neck and head all at once. I was moving when I was struck, which caused me to stumble. I still had Clayborn’s hand and she pulled away at the same time. I fell to the ground at Clayborn’s feet. I released Clayborn’s hand and turned to see who struck me and with what.
I hear an officer yell Taser Taser taser. Hi then saw officer C standing over a large black female with wires from a Taser deployed. The female that had assaulted me was one Office C had Tasered. She was one of the four female with Clayborn who had refused to move when directed to. I did not get the name of the female who assaulted me.
T returned my attention to Clayborn. She accused me of trying to tackle her. I tried to tell her I was struck from behind, but she would not listen. I told her she was under arrest for interference. I obtained her information and attempted to make contact with a parent. Clayborn refused to give me a telephone number. Then she said to call her grandmother. I let her use her telephone and told her to call a family member, adult. She called a friend and then stated telling them how she was being held by the police and she was tackled. I asked to speak to the person she was talking to I spoke to a female and thought this was all a joke being Play on her. I asked if she was Clayborn’s sister. The female replied she was a friend. I told her we had to call a family member.
I asked Clayborn for her grandmother's telephone number again. She told me ###. I called and spoke with Inna Friffin. Mrs Griffin did say she was her grandmother and she would come get her. I placed Clayborn in my squad car. A black female showed up and Clayborn said that was her sister. I spoke with this person and she identified herself as Deanaya Clayborn at ###. She was 28. I asked if she would take custody of Ere’shelle. She said she would. I call Inna Griffin back and told her Denaya take control of her. Ere’shelle was released to Denaya Clayborn.
